The Animal Welfare Network does not run a shelter. Animals that AWN takes into its system, for treatment or re-homing, are boarded at various veterinary clinics in Port of Spain and at the TTSPCA. However, this does not suit every animal and sometimes an animal will do better in a foster home, cared for by an individual or family, until a permanent home can be found.
The ideal foster home is with a household that cannot, for some reason, offer a permanent home to an animal but would still like to help care for one on a temporary basis. This applies both to persons who are resident in Trinidad and to persons who are only here for a relatively short time, perhaps on contract.
If you are willing to become a “foster parent” to an AWN animal, please contact us and let us know something about yourselves and the type of animal you are willing to foster.
